Overview

Arthritis is a general term for conditions that affect the joints and surrounding tissues. The most common symptoms of arthritis are pain, stiffness, and swelling. Arthritis can make it difficult to move around and do everyday activities. It can also cause fatigue. In some cases, it can lead to joint deformity.

There are many different types of arthritis, and the symptoms can vary depending on the type. Treatment for arthritis often includes medication, exercise, and weight control.

Joint Pain

There are many different types of joint pain, but the most common is arthritis. Arthritis is a condition that causes inflammation in the joints, which can lead to pain, swelling, and stiffness.

There are many different types of arthritis, but the two most common are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a condition that affects the joints, causing them to become stiff, painful, and inflamed. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system attacks the joints, resulting in pain, swelling, and stiffness.

joint pain

Joint pain can also be caused by other conditions, such as bursitis, tendinitis, or gout. Treatment for joint pain depends on the underlying cause. It can be treated with over-the-counter or prescription medications, physical therapy, and surgery.

Types of Arthritis

There are many different types of arthritis, and each one uniquely affects the body. Here are some of the most common types:

    1. Osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease is the most common type of arthritis. It occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wears down over time.
    2. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory type of arthritis that can cause joint pain and stiffness.
    3. Psoriatic arthritis is a type of arthritis that occurs in people with psoriasis, a condition that causes raised, red, scaly patches on the skin.
    4. Gout is a type of arthritis that occurs when too much uric acid builds up in the body. This can cause sudden, severe episodes of joint pain.
    5. Ankylosing spondylitis is a type of arthritis that affects the spine. It can cause the vertebrae to fuse, which can lead to a rigid spine.

A common symptom among rheumatoid patients is acute thoracic pain. It can be caused by inflammation of the joints, muscles, or tendons in the thoracic region of the body. Acute thoracic pain can also be caused by degenerative changes in the bones or discs in the spine. Treatment for acute thoracic pain will vary depending on the underlying cause.

If you are experiencing any pain or stiffness in your joints, it is important to see a doctor. They can help diagnose the type of arthritis you have and develop a treatment plan to relieve your symptoms.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

According to the World Health Organization, rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, progressive inflammatory disease that primarily affects the joints. It can also cause inflammation of the tissue around the joints, as well as in other organs in the body.

The immune system is a complex network of cells and proteins that helps the body fight off infections. In people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or RA patients, the immune system mistakenly attacks the joints, causing inflammation and joint damage. This can lead to pain, stiffness, and swelling. RA can also cause soft tissue injuries, like tendonitis or bursitis. RA is a chronic, or long-lasting, disease. There is no cure, but treatments can help relieve symptoms and slow the progression of joint damage.

Chiropractic care

Chiropractic care is a type of alternative medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. This includes conditions like back pain, neck pain, and headaches. Chiropractors use a variety of techniques to treat these conditions, including spinal manipulation, soft tissue therapies, and exercises.

Spinal manipulation is a technique that chiropractors use to treat back pain and neck pain. It involves applying pressure to the spine to realign the bones and relieve pain.

Soft tissue therapies are techniques that chiropractors use to treat soft tissue injuries, like tendonitis and bursitis. These injuries can be caused by repetitive motions or overuse. Soft tissue therapies can help reduce inflammation and relieve pain.

Exercises are often used in conjunction with other treatments to improve range of motion and reduce pain. Chiropractors may prescribe specific exercises to stretch and strengthen the muscles and joints.

If you are experiencing pain or stiffness in your muscles or joints, you should talk to a chiropractor. They can help determine the cause of your pain and develop a treatment plan to relieve your symptoms.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

One of the benefits of chiropractic care is that it can increase circulation. When the bones and muscles are properly aligned, it can increase blood flow and reduce inflammation. This can improve overall health and well-being.

Chiropractic care is also beneficial for the whole body. When the spine is aligned, it can help improve nerve function. This can lead to better digestion, a stronger immune system, and improved organ function.

Chiropractic care is a safe and effective way to improve your health and well-being. It can provide relief from pain, increase circulation, and improve overall function.

Chiropractic treatment

As recommended by Arthritis Foundation, a rheumatoid patient presenting with joint damage and arthritic pain should see a chiropractor for treatment.

Chiropractors are licensed and well-experienced in handling rheumatoid arthritis. They can help to reduce the pain and inflammation in the joints and help improve the range of motion. They also use a variety of techniques to help relieve pain, and they can also provide advice on how to manage the condition.
It is important to provide a detailed medical history with your chiropractor. This will help them determine whether arthritis is the root cause of your symptoms.

chiropractic treatment for arthritis

One of the most common ways that chiropractors treat joint pain is with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). This involves placing electrodes on the skin near the painful joint and sending electrical impulses through the electrode to the nerve. The electrical impulses help to block pain signals from reaching the brain.

Chiropractors can also provide chiropractic adjustments. Chiropractic adjustment is a type of manual therapy that involves using the hands to apply pressure to the joints. The pressure helps in reducing inflammation, pain, and other arthritis symptoms. Joint manipulation is also a technique that involves using your hands to move the arthritic joint into different positions and gives the same benefits.

Physical therapy is another treatment option that can be used to treat joint pain. Physical therapists use active exercises and stretches to help improve range of motion and reduce pain.

If you’re looking for a non-invasive, drug-free way to treat your rheumatoid arthritis, low-level laser therapy (LLLT)may be a good option for you. LLLT uses sound waves to deliver energy to the affected area, providing relief from pain and inflammation. There are no known side effects associated with LLLT, making it a safe and effective treatment option for those with rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Chiropractor

If you are considering chiropractic care for your joint pain, it is important to find a qualified chiropractor who has experience treating similar conditions. Chiropractors who are members of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) have undergone extensive training and are well-qualified to provide care.
If you are looking for an ACA member chiropractor in your area, you can use the Find a Chiropractor tool on the ACA website.

It is also important to make sure that they are licensed and insured. This will protect you if something goes wrong during your treatment.

If you suffer from elbow pain, you’re not alone. Tennis elbow is a fairly common issue among tennis players or those involved in racquet sports. The good news is that there are several things you can do to help ease the pain and get back to your game.

Elbow Pain

Elbow pain is a common problem that can be caused by various factors. The elbow is a complex joint made up of the bones of the upper arm and forearm, as well as the muscles, tendons, and ligaments that connect them. This gives the elbow a wide range of motion, making it possible to flex and extend the arm, rotate the forearm, and grip objects.

However, this wide range of motion also makes the elbow susceptible to injury. Overuse injuries are common in racket sports as well as in other activities that involve repetitive motions of the elbow joint. These injuries can cause the muscles and tendons around the elbow to become irritated or inflamed, leading to pain and discomfort. Elbow joint pain can also be caused by other issues, such as arthritis, bursitis, or muscle strain.

Elbow joint elbow pain is most often caused by overuse of the elbow joint and the muscles and tendons attached to it. In many cases, the pain is due to inflammation of the tendons that attach the forearm muscles to the elbow joint.

Tennis Elbow Pain

Tennis elbow is a type of repetitive strain injury that affects the soft tissues around the elbow joint. It’s usually caused by overuse of the forearm muscles and tendons. Other sports that can lead to tennis elbow include racquetball, squash, weightlifting, and basketball.

Elbow joint pain is commonly caused by lateral epicondylitis, also known as tennis elbow. This condition results from overuse of the muscles and tendons that attach to the lateral epicondyle, the bony protrusion on the outer side of the elbow. Repeated motions, such as those often used in tennis, can lead to the inflammation and pain of lateral epicondylitis.

elbow chiropractor

Lateral epicondylitis is a form of tendinitis, which is the inflammation of the lateral epicondyle tendon. This condition develops over time with repetitive motions of the elbow joint. Blood circulation in the affected area is reduced, which can lead to scar tissue formation. The scar tissue can limit the elbow’s range of motion and cause further pain.

Medial Epicondylitis

Golfer’s elbow is a similar condition caused by overuse of the muscles and tendons on the inner side of the elbow joint. The medical term for this condition is medial epicondylitis. As with lateral epicondylitis, a golfer’s elbow is the result of repetitive motions that put a strain on the elbow joint.

If you think you may be suffering from lateral epicondylitis or a golfer’s elbow, it’s important to see a doctor or chiropractor for an accurate diagnosis. Once the cause of your elbow pain has been determined, you can begin treatment and start on the road to recovery.

Symptoms of Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow sufferers commonly complain of pain in the affected arm. This results from inflammation of the tendons in the arm and wrist. Symptoms include pain and tenderness in the affected area, as well as decreased range of motion.

The pain of the tennis elbow is often worse when the arm is used for overhead motions or when gripping objects. You may also feel pain when extending the arm or when twisting the wrist.

How is Tennis Elbow Diagnosed?

Your doctor will ask about your symptoms and medical history. They will also perform a physical exam. Imaging tests, such as an MRI or X-ray, may be ordered to rule out other conditions.

If you think you may be suffering from tennis elbow, it is important to see a doctor or other medical professional for an accurate diagnosis. Early treatment is essential in preventing the condition from becoming worse.

Injury Prevention

There are several different ways to prevent tennis elbow, including:

    • protecting the soft tissues around the elbow joint
    • avoiding repetitive motions that put stress on the elbow joint
    • keeping the muscles and tendons around the elbow strong and flexible
    • avoiding contact with a hard surface (such as a bony bump)

A more practical way to do these is to avoid repetitive motions that put a strain on the elbow joint. If you must perform a repetitive motion, take frequent breaks and use proper form. Wearing a compression sleeve can also help to reduce this.

Chiropractic Treatment Plan

Chiropractic management is a key injury prevention strategy for tennis elbow. Chiropractors work to ensure that the muscles, tendons, and ligaments surrounding the elbow joint are functioning properly. This helps to minimize the risk of overuse injuries. Chiropractic care can also help to speed up the healing process if an injury does occur. Chiropractors may use a variety of techniques, such as massage, stretching, and manipulation, to treat tennis elbow. They may also recommend exercises or other activities that can help to prevent the condition from recurring.

If you’re suffering from tennis elbow, it is important to undergo a physical examination for an accurate diagnosis. A chiropractor can also help to identify any underlying issues that may be contributing to your pain.

Conservative Treatment Options

Physical therapy is often recommended as a conservative treatment option for tennis elbow. Physical therapy can help improve the range of motion and strengthen the muscles and tendons around the elbow joint. A physical therapist can also help to develop a plan to prevent future injuries.

Compression sleeves are a common treatment option for tennis elbow. They are worn around the forearm and help to reduce inflammation and pain. Compression sleeves can be purchased over the counter or online.

One of the most effective conservative treatment options for tennis elbow is cross friction massage. This technique involves massaging the area of the tendon that is most commonly damaged in the tennis elbow, known as the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB).

Active release technique (ART) is another popular conservative treatment option for tennis elbow. This technique is similar to cross friction massage but also involves stretching the damaged tendon.

Active release techniques are performed by certified therapists who have completed specific training in this area. The therapist will apply pressure to the affected tendon and then stretch it. This helps to break up any adhesions or scar tissue that may be present and can help to improve the range of motion and reduce pain. Active release techniques are often used in combination with other treatments such as ice and heat therapies, exercises, and stretching.

A recent case report found that Active release techniques were effective in treating tennis elbow in a large percentage of patients. The study found that improved range of motion, pain, and function in patients with tennis elbow. This is an effective treatment option for those who are looking for an alternative to surgery or other more invasive treatments.

Surgery is rarely needed for tennis elbow but may be recommended in severe cases that do not respond to conservative treatment. Surgery involves repairing or removing the damaged tendon.

A chiropractic elbow adjustment can be a great way to get relief from the pain and discomfort associated with the tennis elbow.

Relief from back pain is available at Victory Rehab Clinic https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/relief-from-back-pain/ https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/relief-from-back-pain/#comments Tue, 02 Aug 2022 05:07:05 +0000 https://webparke.com/victory/?p=515

Do you suffer from Lower Back Pain? If so, you’re not alone. Lower back pain is one of the most common health concerns in the United States. According to the American Chiropractic Association, up to 80% of adult patients deal with lower back pain at some point in their lives.

Low back pain has a ripple effect on your health, especially on your body. It becomes difficult to enjoy everyday activities that were once enjoyable and can make it hard to concentrate and have missed work.

Most new patients opt for medications as their first instinct but it’s not the only solution. Depending on the causes, there are likely several things you can search and do.

naperville back pain

Back Pain Relief: Medication, Chiropractic, & Surgery

While there is no one-size-fits-all solution for lower back pain, there are several effective treatments that can provide significant relief.

Chiropractic treatment and surgery are two common methods of back pain relief. Both are effective in reducing pain and improving function.

The chiropractor adjusts the body to improve articular stability. It’s called spinal adjustment. Another common treatment for lower back pain is medication.

There are several different types of medication that can be effective in treating lower back pain. These include over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, and prescription pain medications.

In some cases, surgery may be recommended as a treatment for lower back pain. This is usually only considered when other treatments have not been effective in relieving pain.

Core Chiropractic Treatment

Chronic low back pain is a common problem and pain relief is often the primary goal of treatment. The first adjustment goal setting for the chiropractic treatment plan is driven by the patient’s pain and disability issues and activity intolerance. Consistent among all guidelines of low back pain treatment is the prevention of chronicity.

There are many potential benefits of chiropractic care for low back pain. Chiropractic adjustments can help to restore normal alignment of the spine, which can help to relieve pain and improve function. Chiropractic care may also help to reduce inflammation and muscle spasms, and it can increase range of motion and flexibility.

In addition, chiropractic care is generally considered to be safe. Serious side effects are rare, and most people experience only mild side effects, such as soreness or tenderness, after a chiropractic adjustment.

Manual Therapy

There are many different types of chiropractic treatments, but one of the most common is manual therapy. It is a type of hands-on treatment that involves using the hands to manipulate the joints and soft tissues of the body.

Some types of musculoskeletal conditions include problems on:

Nerve: Relieve pressure on nerves that may be causing pain or other problems.

Leg/Hips: Improve range of motion and reduce pain in the leg/hips.

Knee Joint: Relieve pain and improve range of motion in joints that are not moving properly.

Other treatments: Spinal manipulation

There are many different types of chiropractic treatments, and the type of treatment that is best for you will depend on the cause of your pain. For a herniated disc, you may benefit from spinal decompression therapy, which uses a machine to apply gentle pressure to the spine to relieve pressure on the discs.

For muscle tension, you may benefit from massage or trigger point therapy. And if your pain is due to arthritis, you may benefit from joint mobilization or manipulation.

Passive physical therapies—such as heat, cold, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound—may give you brief relief from pain and discomfort and help you relax during spinal manipulation. But these therapies do not help you prevent long-term problems. Don’t use them on their own.

Chiropractors use a variety of techniques to treat low back pain, including spinal manipulation, massage, and electrical stimulation. Chiropractic treatments also prevent future injuries by improving

Chiropractic Tips For Lower Back Pain

Feet flat on the floor and Use Pillow under Left Leg

Placing a pillow under your left leg will help to take the pressure off of your spine and allow your muscles to relax. Additionally, be sure to keep your feet flat on the floor while you’re performing this stretch. This will ensure that you’re not putting any unnecessary strain on your back.

Strengthen your abdominal muscles through yoga, Pilates, and other core and floor exercises. Exercise will strengthen the support to the spine and prevent other conditions. Stretching also improves posture and reduces stress on the spine.

Pay attention to your posture. When standing, keep your feet shoulder-width apart and firm on the floor, then keep your knees slightly bent. When sitting, make sure your hips are higher than your knees and that you’re not slouching.

Avoid lifting heavy objects. When lifting something heavy, be sure to use proper form and your legs in the proper position. Bend at your knees, not your waist, and keep the object close to your body. Your feet must lay flat on the floor.

Make sure to get up and move around every 30 minutes or so. Taking a brief walk or doing some simple stretches can help keep your back muscles from getting too tight.

However, if your pain persists or becomes worse, be sure to consult your doctor for further health evaluation.

Pain Treatment Exercises

Pelvic Tilt Lie or Glute/Piriformis stretch. Lie on the back with both feet flat on the floor and both knees bent. Rest the ankle of the right leg over the knee of the left leg. Pull the left thigh toward the chest and hold the stretch. Do a “scoop” motion with your pelvis while you press the small of your back into the floor. Repeat for each side.

Knee to chest stretch: Rest on your back on the floor and position your knees bent and pull one knee up to your chest, using your hands to clasp behind the thigh. Hold the stretch for a count of 10, then release and repeat with the other leg.

How long does it take a chiropractor to fix lower back pain?

There are many factors to consider when estimating how long it will take for your back pain to be relieved by chiropractic treatment. The type of pain you’re experiencing, the extent of the injury, and how long you’ve been dealing with it are all important considerations. In general, acute pain (present for less than 3 months) will take less time to heal than chronic pain (present for 3 months or longer).

If you’re considering seeking chiropractic treatment for back pain, it’s important to find a qualified practitioner who has quality experience treating similar conditions. Once you’ve found a Chiropractor you feel comfortable with, be sure to ask about their treatment philosophy and what you can expect in terms of healing time.

It’s also important to keep in mind that chiropractic treatment is not a quick fix. Many cases suggest that it will take several weeks or even months of regular chiropractic adjustments before you see significant improvement. This is because the goal of chiropractic care is to correct the underlying cause of your pain, not just to provide temporary relief.

How to Do a Squat Like a Pro: Naperville Chiropractor takes time to discuss the importance & proper form. https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/squats-naperville-chiropractor-takes-timeout-to-discuss-importance-and-proper-form/ https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/squats-naperville-chiropractor-takes-timeout-to-discuss-importance-and-proper-form/#comments Wed, 01 Jun 2022 04:56:00 +0000 https://webparke.com/victory/?p=486

Ok. So we all hate them. Doing too many can make it feel like you just rode a horse 300 miles. What am I talking about? Squats. However, the simple truth is that there is a tremendous therapeutic benefit to properly performing squats as well as one of the best exercises you can do at the gym. Squats recruit some of the biggest and most important muscles of the body. They burn more calories than most weight lifting exercises and will help burn fat in unsightly areas. So why do I as chiropractor care about squats?

Importance of Squats

Squats, if performed properly, can help stabilize and strengthen an individual’s low back and knees. It is a great tool that we utilize in our office constantly.

– Squats are a great way to burn calories and fat, as well as tone your body.

– They help to build muscle in your legs, butt, and core.

– Squats can improve your balance and stability.

– Stronger leg muscles can take pressure off of your back and knees.

What Muscles Do Squats Work?

Squats work the quadriceps (thigh muscles), glutes (buttocks), hamstrings (back of thigh), and calf muscles. They also indirectly work the muscles of the lower back and abdominal region.

How to do a Squat?

There are many ways to squat, but as a general rule of thumb, here are some tips:

TIP 1: START WITH BODY WEIGHT.

Too often do individuals (gentlemen I am talking to you) want to increase weight before they work on the form of an exercise. Increasing weight too quickly can result in not getting the full benefit of the exercise, not properly engaging the correct muscles, and potential risk of serious injury. So if you are new to squats, or simply new to the proper squat form, start with only your body weight. (believe me, you can still achieve one heck of a workout with just your body weight.

TIP 2: WATCH YOUR KNEES. KEEP YOUR WEIGHT ON YOUR HEELS

When performing a squat your goal is to get your hip crease slightly below your knees. In doing so your knees should never pass over your feet! If your knees move forward over your feet in your descent all of your body weight will transfer forward to the balls of your feet. This creates an immense amount of anterior shear on the knee joint and in time or with heavy weight could potentially cause serious injury.

IMG 1190
Improper Squat Form
IMG 1192
Proper Squat form

Ideally, you want your knees to stay right above your feet as your rear-end makes the descent to slightly below parallel. In this position, you should feel all of your body weight distributed through your heels. You know you are moving in the right direction if you feel like you are falling backward.

TIP 3: KEEP YOUR CHEST UP

As a chiropractor, I am constantly talking to my patients about low back safety and positioning. When it comes to performing a squat you want to make sure that all the work is being done with your legs and not your back. As you lower your body down you want to maintain the natural curve in your lower back. This is done by keeping your chest up and not letting your back round out.

If you have trouble with keeping your chest up a simple fix is to put a mat that is 1/2″ to 1″ thick under your heels. This will elevate your heels allowing your ankles more mobility to help keep your chest from falling forward or collapsing. Once you have this down try reducing the mat size or try it with no mat at all.

Click this link to watch a video discussing proper squat techniques.

Squat Exercises

Now that you know how to do a squat, let’s move on to some squat exercises.

Pistol Squat

The pistol squat is a single-leg squat where one leg is extended out in front of the body while the other supports the entire body. This is an advanced move that requires significant strength and balance. Start by holding your arms out in front of you for balance and then raise one leg off the ground. Keeping your chest up and back straight, lower yourself down as far as possible before exploding back up to the starting position. Complete all reps on one side before moving on to the other.

Squat Jump

A squat jump is a plyometric exercise that will help improve your power and explosiveness. Start in a squat position with your feet shoulder-width apart and then jump as high as possible. Land softly back into the squat position and repeat. Try to keep your squat as shallow as possible to really engage your legs.

Standing Squat

The standing squat is a great exercise for beginners who are looking to get used to the movement without any additional weight. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and then lower yourself down into a squat position. Be sure to keep your chest up and back straight throughout the entire movement. Once you have reached the bottom of the squat, raise yourself back up to the starting position. Complete all reps before moving on.

Don’t be intimidated by squats! If you are new to squats, or simply new to the proper squat form, start with only your body weight. You can still achieve one heck of a workout with just your body weight.  As you become more comfortable with the movement and want to add additional weight, start with a barbell. You can then move on to dumbbells, kettlebells, and ultimately heavier weights. Remember to always focus on proper form and technique first and foremost.

Victory Rehab – Paleo Diet Pros & Cons https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/victory-rehab-paleo-diet-pros-cons/ https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/victory-rehab-paleo-diet-pros-cons/#comments Thu, 25 Nov 2021 06:30:01 +0000 https://webparke.com/victory/?p=639 Many of you have probably heard about a popular diet known as the Paleo Diet.  As a chiropractor in Naperville some of the most commonly asked questions I receive are about nutrition, more specifically diets.  The most popular diet for most of our patients at Victory Rehab is the Paleo diet.  It is important to take a completely non biased view and discuss all the pros and cons of this diet to determine whether it is right for you. For those of you who haven’t heard of the Paleo diet, here is the rundown.

Foods in the Paleo Diet

Followers of the Paleolithic Diet—commonly referred to as the Paleo Diet, the Caveman Diet and Stone Age Diet—adopt an eating plan intended to mimic what hunters and gatherers ate in the Paleolithic period more than 10,000 ago, before the advent of agriculture: whole fruits and vegetables, fish, grass-fed livestock, fungi, roots and nuts. The diet prohibits grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar and all processed foods. The basic premise of the Paleo eating plan—that we should be eating more “real” foods—is easy to support.   Having many active patients at Victory Rehab we have seen first hand how popular a diet this has become.

Of course, it is impossible to perfectly mimic a caveman diet—after all, not many of us hunt our own wild game, eat only wildly grown organic foods or grass-fed meats, catch our own fish or spend the entire day running around in search of food especially in the western suburbs like Naperville. The reality is that, in our current food environment, many people would have a hard time completely eliminating the huge amount of widely available processed food items for the long haul.

At first glance, however, the Paleo Diet looks pretty healthy. Who can argue with eating a wholesome diet of foods that you not only know the location of where they were grown or raised but can also understand every word on the ingredient list? In fact, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, fish and nuts looks remarkably similar to a Mediterranean diet, which a considerable amount of research has identified as among the healthiest diets in the world.

The problem comes with other aspects of the Paleo diet; specifically, an absence of grains and dairy products, and the emphasis on meat. After all, studies have demonstrated the benefits of whole grains, legumes and low-fat dairy. And we know that too much red meat is linked to heart disease. Due to the lack of dairy products, calcium and vitamin D intake can be particularly low on this eating plan, which can be harmful to bone health. The diet also tends to be very low in carbohydrates, which could contribute to suboptimal performance for athletes. However, it is worth nothing that a Paleo eating plan can be adapted to avoid nutrient deficiencies or support an active lifestyle, but the average person will likely struggle.

To become one of the best Naperville Chiropractic offices it is important for the physicians at Victory Rehab to look at the bigger picture when treating our patients.  If one puzzle piece is missing it can lead to a chronic exacerbation of a problem.  If you are having chronic aches and pains, live in the Naperville area,  and think nutritional counseling may be of some benefit to you.  CLICK HERE to schedule a consultation with one of our experienced Naperville chiropractors.

Why Your Company Should Use A Chiropractor In Naperville To Coordinate A Corporate Wellness Program https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/why-your-company-should-use-a-chiropractor-in-naperville-to-coordinate-a-corporate-wellness-program/ https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/why-your-company-should-use-a-chiropractor-in-naperville-to-coordinate-a-corporate-wellness-program/#respond Thu, 25 Nov 2021 06:00:05 +0000 https://webparke.com/victory/?p=615
chiropractor in naperville 1

If you’re in human resources and are looking for a way to help your employees stay healthy and happy in the new year, consider implementing a corporate wellness program. Victory Rehab, a chiropractor in Naperville, has put together a corporate wellness program that’s available at no cost to local companies. Here’s what you can receive when your business partners with the chiropractor in Naperville.

Benefits Of A Corporate Wellness Program

When your company partners with a chiropractor in Naperville for a corporate wellness program, you’ll find a lot of benefits. These include a marked decrease in absenteeism, employees who have more energy, reduced health care costs, increased employee satisfaction and higher productivity. Basically, employees who are happy and healthy, work harder and more productively, all the while enjoying their time at work. They see that their employers value their health and well-being and are more satisfied with their workplace. They’re also less likely to look for a new job, which can reduce human resources and retraining costs.

A Chiropractor In Naperville Can Provide Onsite Massages

Workplace stress is one of the biggest reasons that employees look for a new job. If your employees have been working harder than ever, reward them with an onsite massage. These massages typically take place for 10-25 minutes and occur when the employee is fully clothed to help employees who may have never had a massage feel comfortable. The massage therapist focuses mostly on the upper back, neck and shoulders — all typical problem areas for people who sit and work at a computer all day. Employees can leave their massage feeling energized and ready to face the rest of the day. Additionally, massages in the workplace can help relieve fatigue and lower anxiety, as well as enhance creative thinking and problem solving.

A Chiropractor In Naperville Can Help With Health Seminars

Lunchtime in the workplace could be grabbing a quick burger and fries at the local drive thru or it could be an opportunity for a lunch and learn seminar. Popular lunchtime seminars from a chiropractor in Naperville could teach employees about proper nutrition, how to reduce stress or even how to stay fit, even if your job requires that you sit behind a computer all day.

A Chiropractor In Naperville Can Help Coordinate A Biggest Loser Contest

If your employees are mostly sedentary, it can be difficult to encourage them to get moving. This is how a Biggest Loser contest can help. People who try to lose weight alongside a friend are more likely to be successful and keep their weight off long term. Imagine your whole office cheering each other on as they make efforts to get healthy! When you use a chiropractor in Naperville to coordinate your Biggest Loser contest, the program starts with health nutrition advice and exercise counseling. The program can be done individually or in teams and tailored to your specific office.

These are only a few ways that Victory Rehab, a chiropractor in Naperville, can help with your company’s employee wellness program. If you’re interested in learning more about the program from Victory Rehab, please contact us today at (630) 857-3704.

Chiropractor’s have been treating athletes for many years; Although, it has only more recently been seen in the media.  Athletes of all types, from the weekend warrior to the world-class athlete, utilize Chiropractic because it is a drug-free way to better health and performance.

When discussing a chiropractic adjustment the most important thing to keep in mind is the term “function”.  Chiropractors emphasize the importance of joint function, if a joint is functioning at 100% then we know we have 100% of joint health.  With athletes, this is even more important due to the increased loads or stress put on their muscles and joints.

Chiropractic is a great way to help get a joint to move, and therefore function, better.  Results are greatly improved with an athlete if  the surrounding musculature is addressed as well.

Fighting the Naperville Polar Vortex with Proper Shoveling Techniques from a Local Chiropractor https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/fighting-the-naperville-polar-vortex-with-proper-shoveling-techniques-from-a-local-chiropractor/ https://www.victoryrehab.com/chiropractic-care/fighting-the-naperville-polar-vortex-with-proper-shoveling-techniques-from-a-local-chiropractor/#comments Thu, 25 Nov 2021 05:13:00 +0000 https://webparke.com/victory/?p=534 It is that time of year again folks.  The temperatures couldn’t be lower and there is snow all over the place.  It is always around this time of year we have an influx of chiropractic patients who have injured themselves while shoveling.  I’d like to share with the masses some proper shoveling techniques to help get us through this brutal Naperville winter.

RULE #1  GET A PROPER SHOVEL

-Look for a lighter-weight material such as plastic or aluminum.

-Purchase a shovel with the proper height.  You want to minimize bending at the knees or arching your back too frequently to avoid spasms of the muscles or worse yet a joint or disc injury.

-Some shovels are sold with adjustable heights for different users

RULE #2  USE PROPER LIFTING TECHNIQUES

-Keep heavier loads in close toward your body

-Avoid twisting for the object you intend to lift next.  As a chiropractor, the number one mechanism of Injury we see for low back injury is bending and twisting.

-That brings up my next point.  BEND AT THE WAIST not at the low back.  You want to maintain a proper lumbar lordotic arch when lifting by sticking your chest at towards the ground.

-Walk over to the place you intend on dispersing the snow as opposed to reaching far distances.

RULE #3  WARM-UP PROPERLY

-As silly as it may sound, stretching, walking, or jogging before doing strenuous lifting will help increase blood flow to the muscles while breaking the muscle-fascial plane that may help prevent some injury.  The same should be said for all of our Naperville runners as well.

RULE #4  TAKE YOUR TIME!

-If the snow is quite deep start by shoveling just a few inches off the top to avoid very heavy loads

-Take frequent breaks!  If you start to feel a strain in your low back or elsewhere take a break for a while.

We hope these tips can help get you through another frosty Naperville winter.  If you or anyone you know is experiencing aches and pains from the long winter, CLICK HERE to make an appointment with one of our great Naperville Chiropractors.
